[Gameplay] Grail Front How-To: Advice

Since each quest in a Grail Front will have a different set of classes that can be sent into battle and a different TOTAL COST, preparation is very important. Read on for advice about how to set up your team in the "Prepare Front" phase.

Topic: Use all available spaces!

In quests with a low TOTAL COST, instead of choosing only Servants with a high COST, try including Servants with a lower COST so you can have as many party members as possible. The more Servants you have in the battle, the easier it is to create advantageous situations in both offense and defense.

Topic: Equip Craft Essences only if you have the COST!

While many high rarity Craft Essences grant strong effects, their COST is extremely high. If you equip them to multiple Servants, your TOTAL COST will inflate quickly.
Especially if you want to include high rarity Servants in your party, it's easy to run out of TOTAL COST.
Try equipping Craft Essences to certain Servants only, or adjust your COST using ★3 (R) Craft Essences.

Topic: Keep the provided hints in mind!

In Grail Front, hints will be displayed at the beginning of each quest.
You can check them again at any time during the "Prepare Front" phase from the "Hints" button on the bottom left of the screen.
Use the hints about strategy and characteristics of the enemy Servants to help you choose your party.

In Grail Front, you move across spaces to attack the enemy. The game system differs greatly from normal quests, so in this section, we'll explain some basic strategies.

Topic: Memorize common action costs!

As a general rule, all Masters and Servants will have 50 actions, but the number of actions they expend can vary.
Most Servants must spend 20 actions to move and 30 actions to attack, so they will often either move one space and attack once or move two spaces. If you memorize those basic patterns, it will be easier to predict the areas that your Servants and enemies can take action in.

Topic: Let the enemy approach, then attack on your turn!

In Grail Front, the side that performs an attack gets the first move, so it's usually a good strategy to wait for the enemy to approach you, then attack them on your turn once they are in range.
Check which spaces the enemy will be able to attack after moving, station your Servants just out of range, and end the Player Turn. You can draw the enemy near, then attack on your next turn.

On some maps, it will be more effective to move aggressively than to wait for the enemy to approach.
On maps with lots of spaces that grant bonus effects or items, you'll want to move your Servants early to control those spaces and gain an advantage in battle.

In Grail Front, Party Effects will be granted based on how many Servants participate in each battle, so it's generally a good idea to attack the enemy with multiple ally Servants.
When you advance, move multiple Servants at once to focus on attacking the same target.
Similarly, it's important to place ally Servants next to each other when you expect an enemy attack.

[Merits of Having Multiple Ally Servants Join a Battle]

■The more ally Servants participating in a battle, the more powerful Party Effects you receive!
■Your turns in battle will increase, giving more opportunities to attack!
■You can use skills or Noble Phantasms that affect all allies to their greatest benefit!

If your Master runs out of Endurance, you will lose, so you'll want to make sure your Master doesn't get attacked.
As a basic rule, move to avoid the enemy to stay safe from attacks.
On some maps, it can be difficult to avoid the enemy through movement only. In that case, keep a Servant bodyguard near your Master so you can protect them.
